The LVCM-025-038-01 features a continuous force of 2.5 lbs (11.0 N) and a peak force of 7.8 lbs (34.7 N) and the LVCM-025-038-02 features a 1.000 in (25.4 mm) stroke, where as, the LVCM-025-038-01 features a stroke of 0.37 in. Taunton, MA — Motion Control Products – The Cipollini Flusso is a performance e-road bike that weighs only 10.7 kg. With a weight of less than 16 kg, the TRANSALPES E1 sets standards in the electrified trail and enduro segment. Both e-bikes put a natural feel at the center of the riding experience.

There is an emerging trend in the e-bike market towards lightweight systems that are almost indistinguishable from standard bicycles. This development is supported by smaller, more powerful motors and improved battery technologies. “Integration is the key word,” says Michele Tittonel, R&D Coordinator at Cipollini. “The second generation of e-race bikes will be powered by electric motors fully integrated into the bike design and complemented with high-end components.”

Cipollini set out to develop one of the lightest e-race bikes in the world without compromising reliability and duration of assistance. Now the Italian bike manufacturer is introducing the new Flusso, which weighs just 10.7 kg

Thanks to a special free-wheel technology it’s easy to pedal even without electric assistance. Integration of the drive is also a top priority for the Swiss bike manufacturer TRANSALPES. “With the BIKEDRIVE AIR system from maxon, we want to build perhaps the lightest e-bike for demanding mountain bikers,” as co-owner Michel Juhasz explains. “The new TRANSALPES E1 rides as naturally as a mountain bike without a motor.” TRANSALPES’ lightest e-bike, with a carbon frame, weighs less than 16 kg.

Considerations when specifying a linear slide for a new or existing application.

When a design engineer has fully defined a linear-motion application’s requirements regarding travel length, speed, force, and accuracy as well as repeatability, the next question to answer is this:

Does an off-the-shelf linear slide (or a stock linear slide from a catalog) fully satisfy the application?

Off-the-shelf linear slides are advantageous for their quick delivery and lower cost than that of custom components. No wonder most linear-motion designs do in fact employ off-the-shelf linear slides from various component and system suppliers.

Motion Control –  Electric Cylinders!

Van Nuys, CA — Motion Control – The SDLM Series of Electric Cylinders from Moticont now includes a 1.0 inch (25.4 mm) stroke actuator in their compact 0.750 in. (19.1 mm) diameter series of linear actuators. The new SDLM-019-095-01-01 actuator features a continuous force of 6.8 oz (1.9 N) and a peak force of 21.6 oz (6.0 N). A precision linear optical quadrature encoder is integrated and protected inside the actuator housing.

Maxon is launching the next generation of Motion Controllers with its MiniMACS6-AMP-4/50/10. The controller is ideal for use in applications where PLC solutions may be too expensive or cannot meet customer-specific requirements.

A significant advantage of the new multi-axis solution is that it is programmable with the comprehensive ApossIDE automation software and the license-free Motion Control Library (written in C). Integrated bus interfaces enable efficient data exchange with higher-level controllers; however, it is also possible to run complete process sequences autonomously, without a PLC or PC. The MiniMACS6-AMP-4/50/10 will be available in early 2021.

Motion Control – Elevator Stages

Van Nuys, CA – — Motion Control- Optimal Engineering Systems, Inc. (OES) has released two new high precision Z-Axis Elevator Stages. The AZV9010 and the AZV9020 Motorized Z-Axis Linear Positioning Stages have vertical travels of 10 mm and 20 mm respectively.

The vertical motion of each Z-Axis Stage is driven by an 8 mm diameter ball screw with a 1 mm lead, and guided by cross roller bearings. Very high resolutions of 0.1 micron or 0.05 microns with 10/20 micro-steps per step motor drive, and repeatability of +/- 0.5 microns makes these two Z-Axis Stages ideal for: Microscopy, inspection, metrology, positioning, photonics, sampling, and laser drilling and machining.

Motion Control – Electric Cylinder Has Zero Cogging

The 0.125 in. (3.2 mm) diameter shaft has an internal thread on each end, a total of length of 4.960 in (126.0 mm), and extends 1.585 in. (40.3 mm) past the mounting end of the actuator. The shaft extends thru the 3/8-32 UNF x 0.250 (6.4 mm) long threaded studs at each end of the housing which can be used for mounting the DDL-019-070-01 linear actuator. Long life plain linear bearings support the internal shaft at both end of the actuator.
