(50.8 mm) wide by 5.000 in (127.0 mm) long and feature positioning resolutions of 30 microns and just 1 micron respectively. These precision linear motion stages allow the user to select the level of precision needed for an application.

The 1 micron resolution HCDS-051-032-013-01-B1-01 Voice Coil Stage features cross roller linear bearings whereas the 30 micron HCDS-051-032-013-01-B1-30 Voice Coil Stage uses linear ball bearings.

Custom designed for use in a nuclear power plant these linear bearing/pillow blocks travel on ceramic coated shafting (also supplied by LM76) completely submerged in radioactive water.

Motion Control – Maxon’s 4pole DC Motors

Selecting a DC micromotor for use in applications from aerospace through to downhole drilling inspection, a 4pole motor has advantages. A 4pole design is stronger than a 2pole equivalent but can also fit within the same space and weight envelope.

A 4pole motor can fit within the same footprint as a 2pole design but they are able to generate more torque.
